Workshops

As a teacher for many years, I’ve always considered the teaching process to be a collaboration between myself and the student. My aim is to meet painters at their level and help them become the painter they want to be. There is creativity in all of us. Through demonstrations, lectures, and plenty of one-on-one conversations, I show students the fundamental principles that support a successful painting: composition, color, value, surface treatment, and paint handling. In each workshop we work with professional-grade, heavy-body acrylic paints and use photographs for source material. I encourage fearlessness and experimentation—that’s where exciting things happen!
