Asheville Painting Workshop

Thanks for your interest in my painting workshops in Asheville NC !

I’ve been teaching for many years and have always considered the teaching process to be a collaboration between me and the student. My aim is to help painters become the painter they want to become and to bring out the innate creativity that resides in all of us. Through demonstrations and lectures, and plenty of one on one conversations, I will show students some of the fundamental principles that support a successful painting- such as composition, color, value, surface treatment and paint handling. We will be working with acrylic paints and using photographs as our source material. I have plenty of images for you to choose from or your welcome to bring in your own images to work from.

In the end, one of the main focuses of the workshop is to help students loosen up and find that creative zone where exciting things start to happen!

Hours and location:

• 10am - 5pm Saturday and Sunday.

• Warehouse Studio Building, 170 Lyman St. second floor.

Price:

• $350 for Saturday and Sunday

• All art supplies- paint, canvas, palette, brushes, bucket, images etc.

• Daily demonstrations

• One on one instruction throughout both days

• Follow up critique of work once the workshop is over
